This weekend I took James to The Barber Center in Greensboro for a Tournament.  His first match was at 9:15.  He won that fairly easily 6-2, 6-1.  His next match wasn’t until 1:00 so we decided to go to downtown Greensboro.  We ended up on Elm street in the old section of town.  The storefronts were really old fashioned and the buildings over all were architectually interesting.  We took a lot of photos.  We then took the car a few block farther into the center of town and walked around.  We discovered a bakery and also found a diner to eat at.  At the diner we had cherry sodas and hot dogs and french fries.  We made it back to the tournament in time and James pulled out a tough match winning in the tie break.  We decided to drive home for an hour to rest and then came back for James’ third match at 6.  This match turned into a controversy during the second set when James thought the score was 4 all and the other kid thought it was 4-2.  The ref was called over and in the end they had to start again where they last agreed when James was down 2-4.  Evidently, he lost the second set and had to go to a tie break which he then lost.  He was so tired out there it was painful to watch.  We then ended up eating at the bar at Olive Garden.  The meal was interesting as we had four people standing behind us talking in the strongest southern accent I have heard in awhile.  James and I were trying not to laugh as the conversation centered on going to The Skillet the next day for “the best Omlettes” around.  At another table drama happened when a hot container with red sauce was put on a table and literally exploded.  A poor girl was crying because she had sauce covering her face and got it in her eyes.  The sauce covered the back wall.  Who knew eating at Olive garden could be a dangerous affair.  James and I left discreetly at 9 looking forward to going to sleep back at home.  It had been a busy day.
